Intellectual property
Original work only. Here is how we keep it that way.
What is not allowed
Sellers may only list pieces they are legally entitled to sell. Counterfeits, replicas, unauthorised copies, and listings that infringe copyright, trademarks, registered designs or other proprietary rights are prohibited, as is using photos, text or patterns that belong to someone else. The payment providers Ateliroom uses (Stripe and PayPal) prohibit transactions in counterfeit goods and material infringing third-party rights; a seller who lists such items loses the ability to sell here.
How to report an infringement
Use the report form— from the piece or room itself, or from that page with the link pasted. No account is needed. Choose “Copyright, trademark or design infringement” or “Counterfeit”.
What we ask for
- The link of the listing or room concerned.
- Which right is concerned, and whether you own it or act for the owner (with your authorisation).
- A link to the original work, or a registration number where one exists. Copyright needs no registration.
- Why the listing infringes it, and any evidence.
- Your name and email, and a good-faith statement that the report is accurate.
Every report gets a case number and an acknowledgement by email. This is our notice-and-action procedure under the EU Digital Services Act.
What Ateliroom does
- A person reviews the case, usually within one business day. Nothing is removed automatically.
- Where the claim is serious, we hide the listing while we review, and tell the seller why.
- We may ask the seller for their side. Sellers can respond in their studio.
- We decide: no action, listing removed, warning, suspension. Both the reporter and the seller are told the decision and the reason. The reporter is not given the seller's private details, and the seller is not given the reporter's unless the law requires it.
- Records of reports and decisions are kept, and a decision can be contested by replying to the decision email.
Repeat infringement
Repeated substantiated infringement, or a single grave case such as deliberate counterfeiting, ends the seller's room. The full rules are the Seller Rules.
If you are a seller and you received a notice
Open the case from the email or your studio, and tell us how the piece was made and where the photos come from. Good-faith mistakes are usually fixed by editing the listing; we say so in the decision.
