Seller Rules

What can be sold here, and what never can.

Ateliroom is a marketplace for pieces made by the people selling them. These rules are part of the terms and every seller accepts them before publishing a first piece. Version 2026-09-05. When they change materially, sellers accept the new version before publishing again.

1. Only your own work

  • You may only list pieces you designed and made, upcycled or reworked yourself, had produced from your own design with a workshop you name, or are explicitly authorised to sell.
  • Reselling mass-produced, wholesale or dropshipped goods is not allowed, even when relabelled or lightly altered.
  • Every listing carries an authorship declaration; a false declaration is grounds for removal and termination.

2. Never allowed

  • Counterfeits, replicas and unauthorised copies of another brand's products or designs.
  • Anything that infringes copyright, a trademark, a registered design or another intellectual-property right, including stolen photos.
  • Stolen goods, or goods you are not legally entitled to sell.
  • Illegal goods, weapons, drugs, dangerous or recalled products, and anything that fails applicable product-safety rules (including the EU General Product Safety Regulation).
  • Used underwear, explicit content, and anything that sexualises minors.
  • Misleading descriptions: wrong materials, invented provenance, hidden defects, undisclosed alterations.
  • Deceptive prices, fake scarcity, fake reviews, or asking buyers to pay outside Ateliroom.

3. Honest listings

  • Photos show the actual piece being sold. Materials, sizes, condition and how it was made are stated accurately.
  • Jewellery states whether it contains precious metal, gemstones or pearls, and whether stones are natural, lab-grown or synthetic.
  • Parcel weight and size are declared honestly; carrier adjustments caused by wrong declarations are yours.
  • Made-to-order pieces state a realistic making time.

4. Fulfilment and conduct

  • Ship tracked, within the ship-by date shown on the order, or ask the buyer for more time before it passes.
  • Answer buyers politely and within a reasonable time; harassment or discrimination of buyers or other makers is not tolerated.
  • Disputes are handled through Ateliroom Protection; do not pressure buyers to withdraw a dispute or a review.
  • You comply with the laws that apply to you as a seller, including consumer, tax and product-safety law, and with the acceptable-use policies of the payment providers Ateliroom uses (Stripe and PayPal), which prohibit illegal items, stolen goods, intellectual-property infringement and counterfeit goods.

5. Enforcement

  • Anyone can report a listing or a room. Every report opens a case reviewed by a person; we tell the reporter and the seller what we decided and why.
  • While a serious report is reviewed we may hide the listing. Substantiated violations lead to removal, a warning, suspension or, for repeated or grave infringement, termination of the room.
  • Nothing is deleted by moderation; records are kept so decisions can be reviewed, and you can reply to any decision to have a person look again.

6. Reporting

Anyone who sees a listing or a room that breaks these rules can report it, with or without an account. Intellectual-property claims follow the IP policy.
